Denise: “Good point! Listen everyone; we’re wild about the Little Deeper. We think you should have one too. The price is right, it works just like it’s supposed to and it would make the ideal Valentine’s Day present for either yourself or someone you know.”

Denise: “We’ve decided to review these two BodyWand vibes together because they are so much alike, design wise that is. Both are wand-type massagers, but one is teeny tiny and the other is giant.”
Ken: “When we picked up the massagers from Dr Dick, Denise and I had to chuckle because the BodyWand Plug-in is three times the size of the BodyWand Mini. I said that the BodyWand Mini looked like a Barbie Doll accessory.”
Denise: “And I said the BodyWand Mini reminded me of the joke about the lesbian who had to kick start her vibrator.”
Ken: “Denise and I both really like a wand-type massager because of their versatility. All share a similar design; a rounded head, attached to a stalk-like neck that is attached to the body of the massager. Some are cordless (rechargeable), some plug-in and some run on batteries. The two vibes we have today are examples of the plug-in variety and the battery operated variety. BodyWand also makes a rechargeable model, which was reviewed here last month. See that review HERE!”
Denise: “Both of these massagers have dial-type controls; the controller on the BodyWand Mini is in its base and the controller on the BodyWand Plug-in is, obviously, on its body. A dial control allows for more variation in the speed and intensity of the vibration and, to my mind, it beats a simple on/off or a high/low speed switch.”
Ken: “The BodyWand Plug-in is akin to the granddaddy of wand-type massagers, the Hitachi Magic Wand. It’s just over a foot long, runs on electricity, plugs into an A/C outlet in your wall and is the most powerful type of massager there is. It delivers consistent vibration and you’ll never have to worry about replacing batteries or recharging it. Of course it also means you are tethered to the wall by a cord, but this one has a nice long cord, about four feet long. The body of the BodyWand Plug-in features a easy-grip textured surface, which makes it easy to hold even with lubed fingers.”
Denise: “The BodyWand Mini, on the other hand, is only 4” long, features some decorative rhinestones on the base and is powered by 6 LR 44 watch batteries. Just between you and me; I hate fiddling around with those tiny watch batteries, but I’m happy to report that the BodyWand Mini come with the batteries already installed. You just have to remember to remove the clear plastic dot that covers the batteries before you use it for the first time. And the battery compartment is easy to open. The motor produces an intense buzz-type vibration on the highest setting. This is very different from the deep rumbling vibration you get with the BodyWand Plug-in.”
Ken: “The BodyWand Mini is adorable, but packs a punch. The BodyWand Plug-in is a workhorse and will never let you down. Both are amazingly quiet.”
Denise: “I’ve taken to slipping the BodyWand Mini into my purse for those emergency jilling-off sessions. I’ve used it in the bathroom at work and during my commute to and from work. You’d be surprised how tolerable a traffic jam can be when you’re distracted with a mini vibe like this.”
Ken: “I dig the BodyWand Plug-in. At first I started using it on my sore shoulders after a long hot shower. I’ve been doing some intense workouts at the gym lately. Before I started to use Defense Protection Lubricant I thought I’d better do a little background check. You see, we’ve reviewed dozens of lubes on this site, but this is the first one that suggested it protects. But protects what, or protects against what; was my question.

This is what I discovered. Defense Protection Lubricant contains both caarrageean (sea kelp) and guava bark, an anti-bacterial extract. Apparently there are studies that show carrageenan inhibits the virus (HPV) that cause cervical cancer and genital warts. Guava bark has been traditionally used as a douche to treat and prevent yeast infections. I really think this is a great idea. I just hope that folks don’t get the wrong impression and think that use of Defense Protection Lubricant is a sufficient means of protecting oneself from all STIs.

I also want to point out that carrageenan is a vegan alternative to gelatin.

Defense Protection Lubricant is a light, water-based, glycerin-free, propylene glycol-free, condom friendly lubricant. All of these fine GREEN attributes make this lube worthy of your serious consideration. If I have one quarrel with the product it is that Defense Protection Lubricant dries out very quickly. It doesn’t get sticky, mind you, but it does dry out. Ken and I found that we needed to reapply several times even before we got to the main fucking event.

I don’t recommend this lube for oral sex. It has a bitter taste. But it has a barely discernable fresh smell that is very nice. I really liked the way Defense Protection Lubricant blended with my own natural wetness.

Ken: “The Excel has this fantastic shape; is made of phthalate-free hard plastic; and it comes in three colors. We have the black one. I have to say that I am partial to silicone toys; there’s a warmth to them that hard plastic doesn’t have. Silicone toys also have a ‘give’ to them that the Excel surely doesn’t have. But now that I’ve tried both, I can say that the hard plastic, Excel has a charm all its own.”
Denise: “I totally agree. In fact, I was surprised to discover that it was hard plastic and not silicone. It sure looks like silicone through its clear plastic minimal packaging. There is one obvious benefit to hard plastic over silicone; you can use whatever line of lube you prefer, even a silicone-based lube. You can’t do that with a fine silicone toy. And because the hard plastic Excel is nonporous and waterproof, it is easy to clean and sanitize too. This makes it the perfect toy to share.”
Ken: “Absolutely! Also, because you can sanitize it you can use it both anally and vaginally. Of course, never go from one hole to the other without sanitizing it. Denise thinks it rocks as a G-spot massager.”
Denise: “True! But here’s the thing; the Excel package says it’s a G-spot massager, but it also says that the unique stainless steel rollerball stimulator massages the perineum. There’s no way the rollerball comes anywhere close to my perineum when I’m stimulating my G-spot.”
Ken: “Yeah, I was confused by that too. Then we discovered that Nexus uses the term G-spot interchangeably with the P-spot, which is really your prostate. I don’t get it, but maybe I’m missing something.”

Tantus is famous for their beautiful silicone toys. We’ve reviewed several of them already. And as much as I love silicone, this aluminum plug is everything I could want.

The Alumina Pace is both stylish and functional. It is not a particularly big insertable; it’s about five inches long and the diameter is 1 1/4″ at its widest point. And it’s actually a doubleheader. You can insert either end!

The aeronautic grade aluminum is, of course, phthalate-free and non-porous. The Alumina Pace can be sterilized, which is important if you wish to share it with someone else. Soap and water is all you need for general cleanup, but you can also toss it in the dishwasher, boil it, or wipe it down with a 10% bleach or peroxide solution. It’s that easy.

The heft of the aluminum is also a plus. This distinguishes this plug from say a silicone plug. The extra weight is really nice. The teardrop shape of the one head and the bulbous shape to the other head both make for easy insertion and comfortable wearing. But both ends provide distinctive sensations.

The Alumina Pace can be both warmed and chilled for added sensations. If you’ve never had an insertable that you can enjoy in this fashion, I highly recommend you give it a try.

Another wonderful feature of aluminum is that you can use any sort of lube you’d like with it.

Here’s another great feature, the Alumina Pace is just one of the Tantus Alumina line. Each toy in this line is made of two ends that screw together, so you can mix and match. You can switch out the handle of one of the toys with the base of another and make a completely different toy in the process.

Damn, the Roulette High Roller is pink! Not your pastel pink either; more like your shockingly crazy day-glo-pink variety. Pink is not my favorite color, by a long shot, but I didn’t let the color of the Roulette High Roller get in the way of me enjoying this delightful vibe. You shouldn’t let the color get in the way either.

The Roulette High Roller has just about everything I look for in a vibrator. There is a nice texture to the beautifully soft silicone shaft. It’s waterproof! And it has a pinwheel device that adjusts the variable vibration speed. There are no vibration patterns. But from my point of view, having a bunch of vibration modes is completely overrated. Give me a good strong steady vibration, and I’m a happy gal. And the more simple the controller the better. What gives with all the elaborate control panels on vibes these days? When I use a vibrator I want to get off, I don’t want to go to the moon!

The Roulette High Roller is mighty quite too.

Because the Roulette High Roller is silicone, it’s nonporous, phthalates-free, hypoallergenic and latex-free. It’s also brilliantly easy to clean — mild soap and water will do, or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution, rubbing alcohol or peroxide. Because it’s waterproof, you don’t have to worry about submerging it in soapy water for a thorough cleaning. This is really important to me. I’m very leery about insertable toys you can’t thoroughly clean. The Roulette High Roller comes packaged in its own reusable plastic storage box too. Good thinking, Evolved Novelties!

This vibe is 8″ long total with 5′ being insertable. The girth starts off at a very manageable size and slowly increases to a little over 1.5″ in diameter. That’s not much bigger than my partner Ken’s cock.

The Roulette High Roller operates with two AA-batteries. They are not included in the package. Which is ok by me, since I switched to rechargeable batteries. Really cuts down on operating costs and there are no hazardous batteries to dispose of.

The battery compartment is very easy to open and close and, like I said, it creates a watertight seal.

Ken: “You get this white stretchy cockring that is molded with skulls and a hook to keep with the pirate theme. It’s pretty funny, actually. Anyhow, there’s a barrel shaped thingy on the top of the ring, this is where the silver bullet attaches to the ring in a horizontal fashion.”
Denise: “It is pretty comical, but it works! The bullet has 3 speeds and two pulse settings for variety. It’s amazing what they’re able to do with bullet vibes these days. It used to be, and not so long ago, they were only one speed.”
Ken: “Yeah, it work great as a vibe holder, but not so great as a cockring. I’m used to a much more snug ring. The Riley’s Pleasure Ring is way too stretchy to have any constriction capacity.”
Denise: “The Riley’s Pleasure Ring is made of TPE; Thermoplastic elastomer, sometimes referred to as thermoplastic rubber. Curiously enough the package is more about advertising the movies and the Pirates toy collection than about the materials used in the toy. The package does say that it is phthalate-free. So there’s that. I did look online for more product information, but didn’t find any. The Digital Playground website did say that the toy comes with a complimentary lined satin storage/travel pouch. But ours didn’t. It also says ‘Crystal enhanced handle’. WHAT? I think they need to review their ad copy.”
Ken: “The vibe is activated by a single push button which cycles it through its different settings; pretty straight forward. It takes three watch batteries and they are included in the package. You do not want to put any lube on the vibe before inserting it into the ring, that will make the bullet slip from its holder.”
Denise: “The ring itself is pretty easily cleaned with hot soap and water, but it really can’t be sterilized. The bullet is splash-proof so you can only can wipe it down with a lint-free towel moistened with peroxide, rubbing alcohol or a 10% bleach solution.”
Ken: “I’m gonna come right out and say it. I was expecting a lot more from a Digital Playground product. They make such great movies; clearly a lot of thought and money go into making them. But the Riley’s Pleasure Ring is just kitsch.”
Denise: “I have to agree. The vibrating cockring is a great idea, but this one is sub par, at least the ring part is. It seems like their only thought was to cash in on the Pirates theme; not a lot of thought went into making a quality product, which is really unfortunate.”
