Joy: “Damn! It’s been over 6 months since we’ve posted a review. But we have an excuse; we’ve been on the road…again. As we’ve said before, we sometimes get fed up with our day jobs and just say fuck it. We hop in our RV and hit the road. It does a person good to simply get up and go see something of the world around her.”
Dixie: “But here’s the thing; despite our footloose wanderlust, we never leave home without the essentials. And for us that means sex toys. We picked up our traveling companion back in March, just before we left on our road trip.”
Joy: “And what a brilliant companion The Ripple turned out to be. We loves us some fancy dildos and this beautiful double-header deeply satisfies. For those unfamiliar with the term ‘double-header’, that just means you can insert either end.”

You can use whatever kind of lube you want with The Ripple. And it cleans up as easily.”
Dixie: “Acrylic is another ideal material for a sharable toy. Mild soap and warm water does just fine for everyday cleaning. But you can sanitize it for sharing by wiping it down with a lint-free towel moistened with peroxide, rubbing alcohol or a 10% bleach solution.”
Joy: “Both Dixie and I prefer a textured dildo. And in this regard The Ripple doesn’t disappoint. The wave, ribbed or rippled end is very nice for an in and out motion. And the bullet-shaped end is all about your G-spot. The Ripple comes packaged with a bullet vibe, but we thought that was a waste of time.”
Dixie: “Oh, and don’t forget that acrylic is dandy for sensation play. It can be chilled and warmed for extra sensations. I also want to comment about the packaging. The Ripple comes in an elegant embossed black matte gift box. Inside the box you’ll find The Ripple wrapped in black crêpe paper lying on a bed of black felt. It is tied in place with a black satin ribbon. It’s a totally stylish presentation, but all the components are biodegradable. Kudos to this boutique toy company for their GREEN outlook!”
Joy: “Speaking of made to pleasure. We’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you that this company will custom make any toy you design using their design tool on their website. How cool is that?”
Dixie: “And if you want your insertable to be 99.9% pure gold or silver-plated then look no further. They’ll do that for you too.”
Joy: “I don’t know; as much as I love my pussy, and I do love it a lot, does it need a gilded dildo? Probably not, but that’s just me.”
Dixie: “It is just you. Because I can tell you for certain; if someone turned me on to a silver or gold insertable I’d groove on it big time. I guess I’m just one of your super elegant dykes.”
Joy: “Yeah, that’s the very first thing I’d say about you; you’re super elegant. Like when we in the RV you’re totally elegant in your plaid shirt and Birkenstocks.”

While Dixie was enjoying her Sensual Mint Shower/Bath Gel. I was busy with these two unique aromatherapy candles called Champagne Lights. I have a pink one and a green one. Unfortunately, nothing on the 4oz glass jar packaging that I have identifies the scent. I had to look online to find the answer to this perplexing question. The pink one is French Vanilla; the green one is Pear Blossom. Don’t know why my candles aren’t marked, but there ya have it.

Both candles are made from small wax beads as opposed to the more traditional solid wax. In fact, this is the first time I ever encountered such a thing. Actually, I was taken by surprise when I unscrewed the metal lid and discover the contents. Had I been a bit more careless while opening the jar I’m certain the wax beads would have spilled out all over the floor. So there’s your first word of caution when using this product; open the Champagne Lights carefully.

You may also find that you need to pound down the beads in the jar a bit before opening. Shipping the product disturbs the beads and at first I couldn’t find the wick; it had become buried under the tiny wax pellets. Curiously enough the Champagne Lights candle burn just like a regular candle.

Each candle is pleasantly scented, but nothing over powering. You don’t have to worry about them clogging the air with too much scent. They burn clean and smokeless and they last for about 12 hours. Although you’re not suppose to burn it for longer than 3 or 4 hours at a time. It says so right on the jar.

The candles are also supposed to contain pheromones as well as a particular scent. But honestly, I don’t know what a pheromone is supposed to smell like, nor do I know what it’s supposed to do. Is it supposed to be arousing? If so, I wasn’t. Apparently I am immune to the power of pheromones. Maybe I’m defective.

While the candles didn’t arouse me they did work well as an air-freshener. I brought one into the bath for Dixie to enjoy and she said she loved it.

I think the Champagne Lights candles make a very nice stocking stuffer for under $5.00.

Joy: “We’re back with two more amazing products from the System JO people. You probably saw the reviews we did just a couple of weeks ago for their Clitoral Gel, right?”
Dixie: “I should mention from the start of this review that both Joy and I are total lube snobs.  I figure ya gotta be since there is so much questionable stuff on the market these days.”
Joy: “Absolutely! Listen, folks you need some standards when it comes to products that you will use on and IN your body. You certainly don’t want to be at the mercy of unscrupulous manufacturers. Be informed and choose your products wisely; it’s the only way to protect yourself.”
Dixie: “The two products we have today are very similar. The JO Premium Women is a silicone-based lubricant; the JO H2O Women is the water-based product. Both were developed for women by women and contain vegetable-based glycerin as opposed to animal-based glycerin. This should waylay any concerns some might have about yeast infections associated with animal-based glycerin.”
Joy: “While we’re on the topic of ingredients, I should point out that the JO H2O Women product contains parabens. Again, some women may be sensitive to that. Parabens, as you may know, are preservatives and you can’t have a water-based lube without some kind of preservative, because it will go bad.”
Dixie: “What’s so remarkable about both the JO Premium Women and the JO H2O Women is that they both feel so much alike. Both are very slick and slippery. Both feel like silicone. The JO Premium Women for obvious reasons, it is silicone-based after all. But the JO H2O Women is nearly identical in its consistency. And both last and last.”
Joy: “It’s true! I expect that kind of staying power for a silicone-based lube, but I was amazed at the staying power of the water-based one. I never had to use more than two little dollops of either formula for an entire play session and each session included a toy too. By the way, I really love the pump dispenser. There is no waste, no spillage and the plastic cap that fits over the pump keeps everything clean.”
Dixie: “Both products are 100% latex safe, so there’s never an issue with condom use. Both are fragrance free too, which I really appreciate. The JO H2O Women is easier to clean up, because it is water-based. But soap and water is really all you need for both. I found that the anti-bacterial hand soap I have on my vanity is the most effective in cutting the silicone in the JO Premium Women formula. Don’t know why that is, but there ya have it.”
Joy: “Despite the fact that these two product are formulated for women, men can and should use them too. They’re just great!”
Dixie: “I agree. We’re both totally impressed with the System JO company. Kudos to everyone associated with them.”

Joy: “We’re going to review two products at once. The reason for this is that both products are basically the same thing with one important difference.”
Dixie: “The two products are: System JO Mild Clitoral Gel and Wild Clitoral Gel. You can probably guess that the important difference that Joy mentioned is intensity of the stimulation. By the way they also have ‘Light’ and an ‘Atomic’ version of the same product.”
Joy: “Both of the products boost sensation when applied to your clit. The active ingredient appears to be peppermint; so at least it a natural product. I’m very reluctant to apply something full of chemicals to my joy-spot. The peppermint also gives the products a mild minty fragrance.”
Dixie: “Joy’s joy-spot! Isn’t she clever? I guess I’d have to call mine; Dixie’s delicious-spot. Whatever you call your clit this Clitoral Gel will get your motor purrin’ real nice. The object, of course is to get the one that works best for you. We both tried each product. We both began by rubbing a couple of drops of the Mild Clitoral Gel directly to our clits. Then we waited for it to produce the promised warming and cooling sensation that tingles. Nothing much happened that either Joy or I could notice. We both looked at each other and kind of sighed. Are our clits that desensitized, we wondered? Could be, we guessed.”
Joy: “So we tried the Wild Clitoral Gel next. We applied the same amount in the same way as the first test. This time, BINGO! We both could feel the sensations within a minute, both warming and cooling. The peppermint was doing its thing. None of this is overwhelming in any sense of the word. Nor is it a particularly long lasting effect, which is a good thing. I wouldn’t want to be feeing this kind of sensation for too long.”
Dixie: “Both the Mild Clitoral Gel and Wild Clitoral Gel are silicone-based, which makes for a very nice silky texture, much like a silicone-based lube. This, however, brings one word of warning to mind. If you are using either of these products with a silicone toy, like a vibrator, be sure to sheath your toy in a condom first. There’s minimal packaging, which I really appreciate. The small tube containing the gel is inside a simple paper package that is recyclable.”
Joy: “The gels are hormone-free. And they are L-Arginine-free too, which is of particular concern for women who may have genital herpes.”
Dixie: “I really like the fact that these gels are PH balanced so that it works with my body, not against it.”
Dixie: “I’m on board for giving the Wild Clitoral Gel a strong recommendation.”
Dixie: “I’m on board with that too. I also think that the Mild Clitoral Gel would suit a woman who may be new to direct clitoral stimulation.”

Can you believe it’s 2010 already? I’ve been a Review Crew member for two and a half years. And in that time I’ve had the pleasure of introducing you to a load of great products, but also some not so great as well.

Today’s review falls squarely into the great product category. I want to tell you about the Magic Massager from Blush Novelties. This thing is phenomenal. It’s a mini-wand type of vibrator; it’s only about 8 inches long from tip to tail. It’s powered by 4 AA batteries (not included in the package).

One would expect a diminutive vibe like this to carry only 2 AA batteries, right? Well, maybe it’s the two extra batteries, but whatever it is this thing is the strongest vibrator, per inch, I have ever used. It rocks my world, baby!

It features a 12-mode vibration system with a LED control panel. Can ya stand it? I mean, come on; that’s freakin overkill, ain’t it? Honestly, the first time I had the Magic Massagerworking its …ahhh magic on my girly parts, I couldn’t honestly say I got beyond the first 5 modes before I got off TWICE! It’s that great. When I took the time to investigate all the modes, I was able to distinguish between all the vibration functions. There’s this one, #9 I think, that is totally crazy. It feels like the thing is running out of power and just when you think it’s gonna die it come roaring back to life. Loved it! And even when the Magic Massager is rockin out, it’s pretty quiet.

One thing to note, the user has to cycle through all of the modes to get to the one she likes the best. But there is an off button that stops the vibe altogether, which is much appreciated.

The Magic Massager comes with 3 soft and pliable attachments — a dome shape, a flat grooved shape and a beaded shape. The beaded shape is my favorite. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information on the package about what the attachments are made of. I am pretty sure it’s not silicone. I used a silicone-based lube with it and it appears to be fine. (Note to manufacturer: it’s always a good idea to include information on the materials used in producing the toy. This helps the consumer make an educated decision on if it is right for her/him.)

Besides the vibrating functions and the three attachments, this puppy is waterproof. And anyone who follows my reviews knows I’m all about bringing toys to the bath.

The battery compartment is a bitch to open. I struggled with it till I almost gave up. And you must sure to replace the little clear O-ring properly, or the vibe will not be waterproof.

This is a unisex toy. Boys as well as girls will really have a ball with this. You’ll be hard pressed to find a more powerful and versatile vibe at this low price. It comes in very nice, yet modest packaging. Get one today!

My partner, Dixie, and I each got a Doc Johnson toy to review.  Dixie posted her Wish-Bone Vibe review two weeks ago.  I got the equally cute, Love Connection to review.

This sweet little multi-speed vibe is actually two vibes in one.  There are two different silicone attachments that you screw on to the hard plastic base.  I’ve used other vibes that offered attachments, but I was disappointed to discover that I couldn’t count on the attachment staying in place during use.  The Love Connection is different.  The two attachments actually screw on to the handle, so there’s no chance the thing will come off when you’re using it.

But the best thing about this little wonder is that it’s waterproof.  There’s nothing that satisfies like a vibe in the bath.  There is a one touch fingertip control button on the base of the handle that allows you to cycle through the three speeds.  This is not a powerhouse vibe, but you wouldn’t expect it to be, being such a cute little thing.  But it gets the job done.

This would make the ideal vibe for travel.  It’s discreet, and it’s quiet.  The Love Connection runs on 2 AAA batteries.  Unfortunately, they are not included in the package.
